 Introduction:
Amboli hill station is known as Mahabaleshwar of Konkan. The altitude of Amboli hill station is 690metres above seal level. This is the only hill station in Maharashtra from where one can see the sea. Amboli hill station is located in southern range of Western Ghats of Sahyadri hills. Amboli hill station is considered as one of the prime hill stations in Maharashtra. More than 55,000 tourists visit Amboli hill station every year. If you are in Goa then it is one of the best places to visit near Goa. It is the best place for hangout with the nature. It is the best and perfect picnic spot as well as retreat from crowded places. Best time to visit Amboli Hill station:
Amboli hill station is all year around destination but mostly people visit here in rainy season for to see the beautiful waterfalls around here in amboli hill station. But sometimes Ghats might block in heavy rainy season by landslide. Best time to visit Amboli Hill station is between October to March; because at this time there’s full fledge of water.

Temperature: As a hill station Amboli’s climate is mostly cool all around year. In summer season Amboli hill station’s temperature lies between 22c to 40c. Where it goes down in winter season, it lies between 12c to 32c.

  •    Hiranyakeshi Temple: One of the famous  temples in the Amboli hill station one can visit. Hiranyakeshi temple is approx 5 km from the main bus stand of amboli. It is the originate point of hiranyakeshi river. This temple is dedicated to goddess Parvati and the shrine dedicated to Lord Shiva. This temple is built in between the caves around on it.   •    Waterfalls in Amboli: Amboli is kingdom of waterfalls, when you are travelling through Amboli then you can find so many small and big waterfalls around Amboli ghat. There are 3 main waterfalls in Amboli which are Amboli Falls, Nangarta Waterfall and Amboli ghat waterfalls. All these waterfalls surrounded within the radius of 5 kms in Amboli. You can enjoy at Amboli Falls, it is very beautiful and there's staircase made by Concrete. You can take bath in Amboli Waterfall but you have to pay Rs, 10/- as an entry fee. Weekends always full here with tourists. Best time to visit these waterfalls are mid June to end of October. In this time of season you will find waterfalls full of waters.

  •    View Points in Amboli Hill Station: If you want to explore the beauty of Amboli hill station and surroundings then you must have to visit following view points in Amboli.
Kavaleshet Point/Valley: Its an echo point in Amboli, one of the major attractions in Amboli. You can hear your own voice here thrrown back from the valley.
      Purvicha Vas: This point is named after typical temple name. This point is good option for weekend picnic lovers with family and friends.
      Shirgaonkar Point: This view point is covered with thick forests and it offers panoramic beauty of the surroundings and valleys.
      Sunset Point: Sunset viewpoint offers scenic beauty of sunrise as well as sunset. Also it offers beautiful view of thick forest. If you are lucky enough then you can also see here leopards and deers.
      Sea View Point: This viewpoint offers beautiful panoramic view of Arabian Sea and coastal region of Konkan.

  •    Narayangad: Narayangad is a small hill station within the Amboli Hill Station. It’s a small village known for its scenic beauty. Narayangad is a heaven for trekkers and adventures lovers. There is a small cave and a temple where trekkers like to go and explore. 
  •    Bauxite mines: If you are adventure lovers enough and love trekking and want to enjoy and explore scenic beauty then you can visit bauxite mines near Amboli. Bauxite mines are located in the range of Sahyadri hills about 10 km of distance from the Amboli main bus stand. 
    Moti Talao (Lake)
  •    Moti talao (lake): When visiting Moti Talao it reminds us of Nainital. It lost its presence because of Western ghats. Moti Talao is situated in Sawantwadi town about 25 km from the Amboli. The town was one of the prime locations for Royal Bhonsale family. The talao is surrounded by green hills around it which increase its beauty. Visitors can enjoy peddle boating here or can enjoy walking near the lake garden for scenic beauty. There is clock tower at the entrance of the gate which reflects its picture in the lake water.
  •    Terekhol fort (Tiracol fort): Terekhol fort is situated about 50 km from the Amboli. It lies on the big hill near the seashore on Maharashtra – Goa border. Otavne River meets here in Arabian Sea where this fort is situated on the Redi creek. Terekhol Fort allows visitors beautiful panoramic view of seashore and creek.
  •    Redi Ganesh (Redi Ganpati Temple): One of the famous temples of lord Ganesh in the Konkan region.  Redi Ganesh temple is situated at near Sawantwadi.
  •    Dajipur Wildlife Sanctuary: Dajipur Wildlife Sanctuary is also known as Radhanagari Sanctuary or 'Bison Sanctuary'. Dajipur Wildlife Sanctuary is about 114 km distance from Amboli. If you are in Amboli then this sanctuary is must visited place for your tour. This sanctuary have thick forest and you will find here rare species of animals, Birds and Plants.   •    Forest Park: Forest Park is just 2 km away from the main city bus stand of Amboli. It offers lot of things for nature lovers. Its heaven for bird watchers, you can find here bulbul, grey horn bills and sunbirds etc. Must carry binoculars and DSLRs for capturing the beautiful moment. 
  •    Summer Palace: Another attraction in Amboli is abandoned Summer Palace (Rajwada). This summer palace is totally ruined now. This Summer Palace is of Bhonsles of Sawantwadi.
  •    Madhavgadh Fort: One of the major attractions in the Amboli hill station is Madhavgadh fort. It is situated at a distance of approx 2.5 km from the main bus stand of Amboli. Madhavgadh fort is in ruined state now. This fort will give you fantastic and breath taking views from the top of Valleys, Mountains, thick forests and also Arabian Sea.
