Introduction:
Amboli hill station is
known as Mahabaleshwar of Konkan. The altitude of Amboli hill station is
690metres above seal level. This is the only hill station in Maharashtra from
where one can see the sea. Amboli hill station is located in southern range of
Western Ghats of Sahyadri hills. Amboli hill station is considered as one of
the prime hill stations in Maharashtra. More than 55,000 tourists visit Amboli

Best time to visit Amboli Hill station:
Amboli hill station is
all year around destination but mostly people visit here in rainy season for to
see the beautiful waterfalls around here in amboli hill station. But sometimes Ghats
might block in heavy rainy season by landslide. Best time to visit Amboli Hill
station is between October to March; because at this time there’s full fledge
of water.

- Hiranyakeshi Temple: One of the famous temples in the Amboli hill station one can visit. Hiranyakeshi temple is approx 5 km from the main bus stand of amboli. It is the originate point of hiranyakeshi river. This temple is dedicated to goddess Parvati and the shrine dedicated to Lord Shiva. This temple is built in between the caves around on it. - Waterfalls in Amboli: Amboli is kingdom of waterfalls, when you are travelling through Amboli then you can find so many small and big waterfalls around Amboli ghat. There are 3 main waterfalls in Amboli which are Amboli Falls, Nangarta Waterfall and Amboli ghat waterfalls. All these waterfalls surrounded within the radius of 5 kms in Amboli. You can enjoy at Amboli Falls, it is very beautiful and there's staircase made by Concrete. You can take bath in Amboli Waterfall but you have to pay Rs, 10/- as an entry fee. Weekends always full here with tourists. Best time to visit these waterfalls are mid June to end of October. In this time of season you will find waterfalls full of waters.

Moti Talao (Lake) - Moti
talao (lake): When visiting Moti Talao it reminds us of Nainital. It lost
its presence because of Western ghats. Moti Talao is situated in Sawantwadi
town about 25 km from the Amboli. The town was one of the prime locations for
Royal Bhonsale family. The talao is surrounded by green hills around it which
increase its beauty. Visitors can enjoy peddle boating here or can enjoy
walking near the lake garden for scenic beauty. There is clock tower at the
entrance of the gate which reflects its picture in the lake water.
- Terekhol fort (Tiracol fort): Terekhol fort is situated about 50 km from the Amboli. It lies on the big hill near the seashore on Maharashtra – Goa border. Otavne River meets here in Arabian Sea where this fort is situated on the Redi creek. Terekhol Fort allows visitors beautiful panoramic view of seashore and creek.
- Redi Ganesh (Redi Ganpati Temple): One of the famous temples of lord Ganesh in the Konkan region. Redi Ganesh temple is situated at near Sawantwadi.
- Dajipur Wildlife Sanctuary: Dajipur Wildlife Sanctuary is also known as Radhanagari Sanctuary or 'Bison Sanctuary'. Dajipur Wildlife Sanctuary is about 114 km distance from Amboli. If you are in Amboli then this sanctuary is must visited place for your tour. This sanctuary have thick forest and you will find here rare species of animals, Birds and Plants.
