Dajipur Wildlife Sanctuary(Radhanagari Sanctuary):  

 Dajipur Wildlife Sanctuary is also known as Radhanagri Wildlife Sanctuary, this sanctuary popularly known as ‘Bison Sanctuary’.It is one of the wildlife sanctuaries in India. Dajipur sanctuary is must visited places near Amboli hill station. Distance between Amboli to Dajipur Wildlife Sanctuary is 114 kms. This sanctuary is situated on the border of Kolhapur and Sindhudurg districts.  The nearest place from Dajipur Wildlife Sanctuary is Kankavli which is just on 30kms distance. Trekking and climbing mountains is one of the attractions in Dajipur Wildlife Sanctuary. This is the best place for adventure lovers, this is the best getaway. The major attraction of this sanctuary is Indian Bison. Dajipur Wildlife Sanctuary have thick forest region. You can find here many animals like Deers, Bears, Antelopes, Snakes and Chital. There are many species of Snakes in this sanctuary. You can find here lots of bird’s species; this place is paradise of bird lovers. Some of birds you can watch here are Quails, Eagles, Jungle Fowls, Flycatchers, Warbles, Vultures, Plovers, Wagtails,  Bulbul and some more species.  In Dajipur Wildlife Sanctuary you will find various animals in reserved area of Sanctuary. In them Bisons, Wild boars, Tigers, Leopard, Giant Squirrel, Sāmbhar, Wild dogs, barking deers, Mouse deers etc animals can be found in the sanctuary.

Flora and Fauna in the Dajipur Wildlife Sanctuary:
In Dajipur wildlife sanctuary there are more than 45 species of mammals and near about 60 species of reptiles are found.  Wildlife animals which are found in the Dajipur wildlife sanctuary are: Tigers, Deers, Bears, Antelopes, Snakes, Chital, Bisons, Barking Deers, Mouse Deers, Leopard, Giant Squirrel, Sambhars, Wild dogs and many types’ reptiles.

Birds in Dajipur Wildlife Sanctuary: 
There are more than 250 species of birds and 65 species of butterflies can be found in Dajipur Wildlife sanctuary. We can say that it is also a bird sanctuary for bird lovers. Some of birds can be found in this sanctuary are Quails, Bulbul, Plovers, Eagles, Vultures, Jungle Fowls, cuckoos, Flycatchers, Wagtails, Warbles Sandpipers, Owlets, Sun-birds, Horn bills, Doves, Woodpeckers, Kingfishers, Night-jars, Owls, Bee-eaters.

Flora in Dajipur Wildlife Sanctuary: 
Dajipur wildlife sanctuary contains tropical evergreen forests. More than 400 species of plants have been recorded in Dajipur wildlife sanctuary.  There are also many medicinal plants can be found in this sanctuary, some of them are Kadipatta (curry leaves), Dhayati (fire flame bush), Karvand, Orange climber, Toran, Candy Corn plant etc. Some species of plants are Jambul, Awala, Kindel, Kumbha, Bhoma, Anjani, Umbhar, Gela, Katak, Chandala, Ambha, Ain, Bibba, Shikakai, Pisa Garambi shrub etc. Karvi tree which is one of the best trees. Karvi flowers blossoms once in 7 years and adds beauty all around the region.



How to Get There in Dajipur Wildlife Sanctuary:

By Road: 
1) Mumbai to Dajipur is 490kms.
2) Pune to Dajipur is 290 kms.
3) Kolhapur to Dajipur is 80 kms.
4) Bangalore to Dajipur is 700 kms.
5) Radhanagari to Dajipur 30 kms.


By Rail: The nearest railway station is Kolhapur from Dajipur wildlife sanctuary is 80kms.

By air: 1) Nearest airport is Kolhapur 80kms.
            2) Belgaum is also nearest airport from Dajipur.


Accommodation: In Dajipur wildlife sanctuary there is forest resorts and rest houses are available for stay. Restaurant services are also available.
